1) What’s the best way to burn a Vancouver Candle Co. candle?

Each candle comes with a dust cover or sticker at the bottom describing the burning instructions.

Trim your wick to ¼” before each burn. Allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the container before extinguishing. This is roughly 3 to 4 hours for our signature boxed candles and 2 to 3 hours for our gold travel tins. The rule of thumb is 1 hour for each inch of the container’s diameter. This will allow the candle to burn cleanly and evenly. Candles have memory so if you extinguish it too quickly, you may experience tunneling.

To prevent fire and serious injury, burn your candle within sight. Keep away from drafts. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn your candle on or near anything that can catch fire.

2) What are Vancouver Candle Co. candles made of?

Each candle is made from the finest, local and ethically sourced materials. We choose to work with premium soy wax blends as it burns cleanly and longer than traditionally paraffin candles. Soy is natural and washes away easily with a soap and water. It’s also a renewable resource and carbon neutral, as opposed to coconut wax which is a leading cause of deforestation.

Our fragrance is the highest quality, cosmetic-grade. We use a combination of natural, essential oils and synthetic oils. Straight essential oils tend to have a lower flash point, often resulting a poorer scent throw.

We use 100% cotton wicks free from any metal cores. Burning candles with lead-cored wicks is now known to cause lead poisoning, and there are similar concerns about zinc-cored wicks.

3) How long do Vancouver Candle Co. candles burn?

When burning according to our recommended instructions, our signature box candles will burn for approximately 60 hours and travel tins for approximately 30 hours.

4) How fragrant are Vancouver Candle Co. candles?

Each candle produces a rich, long-lasting fragrance that gently fills the room. While it does help to eliminate odors, it’s not specially designed to be a room deodorizer.

5) How long does it take to receive my order?

All orders are generally processed within 1 to 3 business days. We’ve negotiated rates with major carriers for fast, reliable service. Typical shipping times are between 1-5 business days in Canada and 5-7 business days in USA.

For international orders, shipping costs are calculated by weight and volume. We do not charge any additionally fees or overhead for packaging. The most cost-effective method for international shipping is often untrackable. Should you choose to take your chances, Vancouver Candle Co. will not be responsible for lost product.

Orders outside of Canada may be charged applicable duties, fees and taxes by the shipping carrier that are outside the control of Vancouver Candle Co.

6) Do you offer returns or exchanges?

Each Vancouver Candle Co. candle comes with a satisfaction guarantee. Please contact our customer care team at info@vancouvercandleco.com.

Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.

7) Can I pick-up a candle from the Vancouver Candle Co. studio?

Unfortunately, studio pick-ups are not available at this time.

8) Can I buy a Vancouver Candle Co. candle at my local retailer?

Please visit our stockist page. Unfortunately, we cannot control inventory levels at our retailers so some items may not be available. Please contact your local store directly.

9) Do you offer wholesale or bulk discounts?

Yes, we offer wholesale and bulk discounts. For wholesale orders, please visit our wholesale page. Minimum order quantities and annual purchase amounts are applicable in order to maintain active wholesale status.
